When looking to book a hotel for our most recent trip to Bangkok, I had trendy and chic but still a modern authentic Thai feel in mind. The W Hotel Bangkok gave us all of this, packaged up into a hidden oasis from the chaotic streets below.

The W Hotel is located in the middle of the action with the BTS, shopping centres, world famous rooftop bars and delicious street food right on your door step (be sure to check out the cool restaurants and bars on soi 10 and 12). The hotel is filled with funky features, so try not to feel too guilty if you don’t feel like leaving at all. The rooms are extra large, a gym that will turn anyone into a gym junkie (or at least no guilt Pad Thai eating). You can spend your day poolside, with the friendliest of pool staff serving up the prettiest cocktails (they’re totally Instagram worthy). Then once you start to feel a little peckish, there are a number of restaurants, bars and The House Of Sathron to choose from. You’ll find yourself struggling to leave.

We stayed in The Specular Suite, the room is extra spacious with the most spectacular views looking out onto the concrete jungle below. Your room will have you feeling like you’ve booked a private nightclub that is fitted with a DIY cocktail bar, coloured lights, customized furniture screaming WOW and a bed making you feel like you’re on Cloud 9. The highlight of the room is set of extra large boxing gloves to help you take your best Snapchat. There is also the Whatever/Whenever service, which means you can get anything at anytime…. As long as it’s legal! The W Hotel has clearly heard of a thing called social media.
