On our recent trip to Phuket we thought we’d try something a little bit different. On previous visits we’d stayed in resorts which were walking distance to local Thai shops. Mixing things up this time, we booked a fully self-contained resort.
Avista Hideaway is the ultimate hidden oasis, just check out my Instagram account – I used the hashtag #hiddenoasis far too many times. Set up in the hills, surrounded by dense forest completely secluded from the world.
View from main pool
The resort has enough to keep you busy for weeks, from the long breakfasts which will having you struggling to guess what they left off the buffet, a choice of three pools all with swim up bars (a must for a Phuket holiday), rooftop bars and restaurants to watch the sunset and for those into their games – a games room with virtual golf. And if you do get the urge to go exploring, there is a free shuttle bus from the hotel down to Patong every hour.

We took full advantage of booking the Jacuzzi Suite. Firstly arranging to have a massage at Aqua Spa- the day spa within the resort, then like a pro I went on to arrange a butler to fill our Jacuzzi and a waiter to deliver mojitios and a fruit platter to our room just before we arrived back from our massage. #purebliss
