Confession. I’d never been to North Bondi Fish… Until now. There were a few excuses like trying to get a table at 1pm on a sunny Sydney Sunday (#nochance) or living North of the bridge – neither excuse was good enough. To make up for lost time with Matt Moran, I made a booking for a long lunch last Thursday.
You’ll find the trendy restaurant in the heart of North Bondi looking back over photogenic Bondi Beach. Walking in it is obvious whilst being greeted at the door that North Bondi Fish is not your everyday local seafood restaurant. Decked out with mint green and wooden interiors and styled with funky décor to complement the stunning views of Bondi. The menu at a quick glance it is obvious that you’ll not only be spoilt for choice but it is all about the seafood.
It didn’t take us long to realise that North Bondi Fish is the ultimate location to snap, chat, blog, and to basically document every bite… If you follow our Snapchats, you would have seen us happily sitting on the deck all afternoon devouring yummy dishes.
The lengthy menu has a trendy twist on all the classic seafood dishes – think Charcoal Roasted Yamba Prawns (their signature dish), Whole Snapper, Fish Tacos and Baby Octopus.
Dressed in a crisp white t-shirt, a brown suede skirt and my boyfriend’s belt I felt dressed up just enough to tackle the fish tacos. I found out while dining that Laurie is just as much of a big fish taco lover as I am, we put North Bondi Fish tacos up there in the top 3 fish tacos we’ve ever eaten (#bigcall).
Those that know me know I am not a sweet dessert girl. You’ll find me ordering cheese boards long before I even consider looking at the dessert menu. North Bondi Fish desserts have made me reconsider everything I thought I knew about myself. Everyone needs to try the espresso martini popsicles and the passion fruit & mango sundae – which is basically summer in a cup.
