Rewind back to a few weeks ago when I was in Petersham… I had only just gotten over my jet lag and was mentally preparing to jump back into another 24-hours of flying.
As always I had to catch up with my Food Crew over some photogenic food before flying out.
We decided on somewhere new…
Majestic Gourmet Grocers had just opened up Harvest Bar – a loft space bar alongside their restaurant Majestic Harvest.
Originally a theatre from 1912 until the 70’s, Majestic Gourmet Grocers have retained aspects of the Old Majestic throughout the venue. The loft has a concoction of mid-century and vintage furnishings along with exposed brick walls and leather couches – all the elements I love within a space… Especially the brown vintage couches.
The space is cozily lit with candles perfect for date night or a few red wines with friends during the winter months.
I’ve been trying my very best to turn Jessie into a red wine girl (just like me) recently… because we all know that the best wines are the ones we drink with friends (or boyfriends).
Head chef Shiman Woon has put together a modern tapas menu with a Mediterranean influence.
Along with a red wine – make sure you order the majestic signature herb fries. I read an article before arriving claiming they serve the best truffle fries in Sydney. Big call… but I’d have to reaffirm their claim.
Plus, if you follow me on Instagram you’d see that ordering a side of fries has become a regular thing – along with charcuterie boards.
Jamon ibericode bellota, Spanish iberico acorn fed ham, onion jam, aioli, crisp bread

We decided on 5 tapas dishes all equally tasty and unique in their own way, with the highlight dish of the evening the pork belly – a succulent and juicy portion with the perfect amount of salt.
Another standout on the menu was the pan roasted scallops with sweet corn puree and parmesan foam.

Crispy skin pork belly, apple puree, fennel, sprout salad
Before parting ways with my two favourite foodies we finished off two incredible dessert dishes. Make sure you come to Harvest Bar with plenty of room in your dessert belly!
Chocolate mousse, raspberry sauce, hazelnut praline
Vanilla bean crème brulee, strawberry salad
