I found paradise, Le Pirate on Gili Trawangan is my new happy place. It’s the sort of pinch me hotel, it’s pure bliss. A hotel you can leave all your worries at home and truly experience island life living.

Le Pirate is relaxed, yet styled with sophistication creating a fun holiday heaven. Walking into the hotel you are greeted with some of the friendliest hotel staff. The staff are not only some of the nicest but also some of the happiest hotel staff who are always willing to help out and offer advice on what to do around the island.

We stayed in the ‘WHERE’ villa for three nights, a few villas down from the beach and directly across from the restaurant and pool. The rooms are clean, bright with a hammock on the balcony and an outdoor shower (not much beats showing under a coconut tree).  

Our days consisted of a long breakfast at Le Pirate, followed by workouts on the beach or a run around the island, sitting by the pool reading, hiring bikes and riding to the other side of the island for lunch then cooling off in the pool during happy hour. During the evenings we took advance of movie hotel and BBQ kebabs on the beach and the restaurants a short walk down from the hotel and on our last evening we headed over to the busier side of the island.
