Catalina. The perfect Harbourside long lunch.

Everyone knows how much I love to eat out; you’ll find me jumping between cafes and restaurants on a daily basis. There are, however, only a few restaurants in Sydney I would go to for a ‘special occasion’. Catalina is one of them.

I received an invitation from Catalina a couple of weeks ago to try their new autumn menu. Taking both Jessie and Wes along with me, we sat back for a couple of hours trying a selection of dishes from the Autumn menu whilst sipping on a champagne and taking in the views.

We started things off with a selection of their freshly shucked oysters.

For both entrée and main, we decided to share. I love trying a selection of dishes, especially at a restaurant like Catalina.

My favourite dish was, without doubt, the swordfish – a dish served with a Dutch carrot, caramelised daikon, shiitake mushroom dumplings and a dashi consommé. Not too far behind was roasted lamb rack with a macadamia crust and autumn vegetables.

Dessert is not a option at Catalina… it’s a must! They have the largest selection of desserts. Be sure to try the classic lemon tart and the chocolate marquise brownie.

Thanks for having us Catalina!
